Bad Friday for Entel: Company laysoff 90 of its plant employees

In the midst of a restructuring plan, this Friday it was confirmed that the telecommunications company Entel SA has laid off around 90 employees out of a total of 4,300.

According to the La Tercera slogan, the chile’s largest company would have opted to dismiss workers from medium and high positions. This is due to results below expectations.

Similarly, the intervention of the consulting firm McKinsey , which for some time has been working to make Entel’s operations more efficient, would have had a direct impact on the layoffs, the daily adds.

“Entel has been working for four years in a transformation process that allows it to be in tune with an increasingly demanding society and a very dynamic business context. This means constantly reviewing the organization and the way in which it operates. This includes making adjustments to its structure. Reason being? To be closer to the client, understand their needs and accompany them in their digitalization processes, “said the firm through a statement cited by the newspaper.

Likewise, the company indicated that they will be in charge of supporting their dismissed workers in the labor reinsertion process, through outplacement programs.

Entel was founded in 1964 as a state company. However, in 1992 it became a private company. The company currently a presence also in Peru and indirectly controlled by the Matte Group.
